This website is intended to help British expats living in Italy to register for the vote in the forthcoming British election which will take place on June 8th.
Whatever the views and wherever British expats reside, it is important for British voters to register and exercise their right to vote.
British citizens who leave the country are entitled to vote, provided they have been away for less than 15 years.
If Britons abroad are not affected by the 15 year ban, please register to vote, before the 22 May, the cut-off date recommended by the Electoral Commission, by going to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
To register you will need your current address abroad, your last address in the UK, your passport details and your UK national insurance number. The website will also invite you to sign up for either a postal vote or a proxy vote. If you need a proxy vote and cannot find a proxy, you may seek help via the official Conservatives Abroad website. Some contacts are provided, which can provide some useful information for British citizens living in Italy.
